How to choose the right web design for your website

Web design is how much is “welcomed”

Each web studio starts creating a website with the development and selection of web design. For the majority, web design is both the beginning and the most important part, since most sites, such as business card sites, corporate sites, have an image-informational purpose. That is, for such sites, the main thing is to look beautiful, to make a decent impression. When we talk about web design, it is appropriate to remember the saying “they meet by their clothes, they see them off in their minds.” And there is! They are greeted by design, sent off by the content.

web design = “they are greeted by their clothes, seen off by their minds”

Website design is the first thing that users will see after they enter the address of your site in the browser and press enter. It is on the basis of their subjective “oh, what a beautiful site” or “fu … what a not beautiful site” that they judge the design. After evaluating the design, users rate the content and functionality of the website.

Web design does not like cramped and meaningless frames

Not everyone can tell the difference between a sophisticated design and a gaudy one. Not everyone understands the value of an exclusive website design, from a template ready-made layout. Sooner or later, every web studio faces a dilemma: to lose a client and not earn anything, or to fulfill all his whims, but as a result, get an ugly site that will be ashamed to put in a portfolio.

Often, a web designer cannot create a good design because of the fault of the customer who wants red on yellow, or that there is a photo of his wife on the main page, and nothing else. It’s good if your wife is beautiful, but you can’t do anything with yellow on red. In this case, web design is doomed to be terrible in advance. Of course, the last word is for those who pay and you can follow in the footsteps of the “naked king”, but, perhaps, in most cases it is better not to set too rigid a framework for a web designer, so as not to limit the flight of his imagination. But of course, you must declare your wishes, direction vectors. For example, at the expense of what background the site should be, in what colors, in what style: in the official, or vice versa, home, etc.

Often, a website receives a bad web design due to the fault of the customer

Web design is difficult to evaluate and even more difficult to choose

Each web studio sincerely believes and proves to others that it creates professional and well-so-very good web design. But, the truth is one: when it comes to taste, the ball is ruled by such a concept as subjectivity. In many industries, in order to save consumers long thoughts about whether it’s beautiful or not, it is done by critics who say: “Oh, this is a new fashion trend!” Or “nope, this is a failure, this is trivial.” This is exactly the case in most areas: fashion, art, and so on down the list. To the delight of designers, there is no such dictatorship in Web design. Therefore, the layout of a particular website cannot be liked by everyone, there will always be people who will not like it.

Sometimes it seems that what is missing, but in fact, this minimalism improves usability: the ease of reading information and using the site. I don’t know of such examples that everyone would like a particular design, but there are examples of designs that are used by millions of people – these are thoughtful social networking sites. Such examples of web design are created under the motto: first of all, it is convenient, and only then beautiful. It should be noted that this is not the worst motto. So which should you choose – beauty or functionality? In this matter, it is best to find a middle ground.

How to choose a website design?

You may feel a little disappointed as you read the last paragraph, but I am honest: there is no definite answer to this question! There is only one way out – to trust the talent and skill of the web designer. Site layout, as a rule, is developed for free, and if you fundamentally dislike the layout, you can thank for its development and turn to another web studio. When the web studio provides you with a site layout for approval, imagine a site user and pay attention to the following points:

Does the site “cut” the eyes (or too bright colors are not present)
Are certain elements annoying (pockmarked background, etc.)
It is convenient to perceive information (size of text, font, etc.)
Pay attention to the size of the site (too large or small site is bad, everyone has different monitors)
Conclusion: all markers are different in taste and color. Trust your intuition, show the layout of the site to your friends, colleagues, listen to their opinion and shape your own. I advise you not to go after super-trendy web design.
